"Instead of building higher walls, let's build longer tables." - Chef José Andrés |
Jorge has been working at the intersection between entrepreneurship and social impact since 2014, when he launched a 12-week entrepreneurship program for marginalized youth in South Florida. Since then, he has devoted his career to uplifting and training hundreds of global leaders who are using the vehicle of entrepreneurship to build positive impact. In addition, Jorge believes that access to transformative, hands-on education allows people the ability to build the life and impactful career that they want.
Prior to joining the SEED SPOT team, Jorge served as the Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships at Watson Institute in Boulder, Colorado. There, he developed a three-day bootcamp for students interested in a career or venture in social impact, which has now expanded to serve communities in over a dozen countries. Jorge also managed Watson Institute’s 16-week Accelerator program for global, impact-focused entrepreneurs.
Jorge holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Affairs from Florida International University and a graduate degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development from the University of Miami. He is also a Board Member and Partner at Social Venture Partners, Boulder County, and is a mentor and advisor to emerging entrepreneurs and organizational leaders across the world.
You can find Jorge mountain biking, hiking, or climbing throughout Colorado, as well as traveling across the country on road trips with his partner and their senior beagle mix. He’s an avid fan of live music and standup comedy, and follows Formula One, MLS, and the English Premier League.
