SEED SPOT is looking for a talented and engaged individual to join our team as the Mentorship Program Manager. This position supports the SEED SPOT Programs Team and is a collaborative team player in managing and implementing SEED SPOT’s Mentorship Program. This role serves as the main point of contact for SEED SPOT’s national network of volunteer mentors, ensuring that all SEED SPOT entrepreneurs are supported by a diverse and engaged group of expert mentors. The Mentorship Program Manager sources, trains, and places mentors to meet the specific needs of early-stage SEED SPOT entrepreneurs and creates processes and resources to ensure the Mentorship Program creates value for entrepreneurs and mentors alike.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Program Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all SEED SPOT mentors, ensuring high-quality mentor experiences.
  • Oversee the strategic development and management of the national mentorship network.
  • Monitor the efficacy of the mentor program, suggest improvements, and create routine data reports on its use and impact.
  • Manage mentor and alumni program communication and data by updating, managing, and maintaining accurate Salesforce records.
  • Leverage mentor and entrepreneur data to support the Development Team in reaching Individual Giving campaign goals and creating grant content.
  • Create mentor testimonials and quotes for use in SEED SPOT marketing and communications material, including the Annual Impact Report, website, social media, and grant collateral.
  • Participate as a collaborative member of the Programs Team by engaging in weekly meetings, visioning sessions, and other strategic projects to reach organizational goals.
  • Use knowledge gained through entrepreneur and mentor engagement to inform program development and identify new opportunities.

Engagement and Recruitment:

  • Engage mentors in events and programs including but not limited to: Accredited Investor events, Impact Accelerator mentorship, partner events and accelerator programs, Startup Spring Training, and all other in-person and virtual events that require SEED SPOT mentor participation.
  • Cultivate and sustain high-quality, responsive mentor relationships by sending monthly mentor newsletters, invitations to events, and conducting regular check-ins.
  • Work with Program Managers to leverage SEED SPOT programmatic events as mentor touchpoints and recruitment tools.
  • Manage investor relationships and build a strong portfolio of accredited investors and capital builders.
  • Coordinate quarterly mentor engagement events to show volunteer appreciation and increase participation and excitement.

Onboarding and Experience:

  • Coordinate and execute monthly onboarding calls for new mentors.
  • Develop robust mentor training and ongoing development processes.
  • Ensure mentor agreements are up-to-date, signed by all mentors, and organized in Google Drive and Salesforce.
  • Renew mentor agreements annually with active mentors.
  • Serve as the primary point of communication for mentors as they join and connect with entrepreneurs in current SEED SPOT programs and partnerships.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve mentor retention and engagement.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions with mentors and entrepreneurs to continually improve the mentorship program.
  • Stay updated on best practices in mentorship and incorporate them into the program.
  • Facilitate connections between mentors and entrepreneurs, ensuring alignment of goals and expectations.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote the mentorship program and highlight success stories.
  • Support the development and execution of mentor-related initiatives and special projects as needed.

Key Qualifications, Attributes, and Skills:

  • Program Management: 3-5 years of experience in program management or mentorship program development, including sourcing, training, and placing mentors.
  • Networking: Ability to build and sustain a strong network of mentors, accredited investors, and capital builders.
  • Entrepreneurial Understanding: Prior experience as an entrepreneur or in a startup environment, with knowledge of the startup ecosystem and lifecycle.
  • Cultural Competency: Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience creating content for newsletters, reports, and social media.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze program data, monitor efficacy, suggest improvements, and create data reports.
  • Event Coordination: Skills in coordinating and executing virtual engagement events, including onboarding calls and mentor appreciation events.
  • Fundraising Support: Experience leveraging mentor and entrepreneur data to support development team goals, including individual giving campaigns and grant content creation.
  • Conflict Resolution: Strong skills in managing and resolving issues between mentors and entrepreneurs.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM systems, and strong proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Independent and Adaptive: Self-starter with the ability to work independently, adapt to change, and manage technology and communication tools with multiple stakeholders.
  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving: Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for SEED SPOT’s mission, including advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • 20 hours contracted per week at $3,500/mo.
