Start or grow a business for good.

Do You Have Your Entrepreneurial New Year’s Resolutions?

Goodbye 2020. 2021, let’s go. The end of the calendar year is a good time to reflect on the previous year and set priorities for the new year for yourself and your business. Since 2020 was unlike anyone has ever experienced in their lifetime, let’s all pat ourselves on the back for making it through 2020.

Looking forward to 2021 is a good time to set yourself and your business for success. While some businesses operate on different fiscal calendars, having priorities for the calendar year can help you keep focused throughout the year. At SEED SPOT, we want to see you succeed, accomplish your goals, and ultimately fulfill your dreams. Let’s start by making them happen in 2021. Here are a few tactics to set yourself up for success in 2021:

Create a Plan for Each Aspect of Your Life:

As an entrepreneur, you have to juggle all aspects of your life – from your business to your family. When thinking about a plan for 2021, make sure you create a plan that incorporates each aspect of your: Your family, your business, yourself, and any other commitments and priorities (could be your volunteer work, your charitable work, or others). Think through each aspect and set forth a plan for it.

Set Realistic Goals:

Setting goals, especially realistic ones, can help ensure you are on track to accomplish them. It is not only about setting goals but putting in the daily effort to accomplish your goals. Your goals should apply to each aspect of your life. To help with this make sure to make your goals SMART – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. By setting SMART goals for the aspects of your life that are a priority, you will be able to track your progress and accomplish them over 2021.

Discover New Opportunities:

Typically, New Year’s resolutions and goal setting focus on what has happened in the previous year or on a distant opportunity. Consider learning something new, joining a new networking group or CEO mastermind group, practicing a new hobby, or volunteering with a local organization. Focusing on something new will provide inspiration, connections, and opportunities!

Take Care of Yourself:

As we wrote in the post, 3 Self-Care Tips and Tools For Busy Founders, “Put your oxygen mask on first before helping others.” This applies to leaders of impact-driven startups – be sure to take care of yourself and then you can help others. If you aren’t in the best headspace, how can you motivate your team and ensure your customers are taken care of? Take care of yourself and good things will happen – you will avoid burnout and increase confidence.

Let’s all celebrate 2020 coming to a close and a return to normalcy in 2021. Cheers from the entire SEED SPOT Family to an improved you, a stronger business, and a better year in 2021!
