Q: I'm a part-time entrepreneur. Can I participate?

Absolutely! There are times each Monday and Wednesday when you'll need to be live and present for our virtual sessions, so be sure your work schedule can accommodate those. You should also anticipate 7-10 hours (including sessions) per week to work on program assignments within your venture and meet with your mentor.

Q: Will I receive funding during the program?

There is no funding directly associated with the Mental and Behavioral Health Business Accelerator. This program will help you earn more revenue and be a better candidate for venture funding. As an alumnus, you'll be qualified to apply for the annual Demo Day competition, with thousands of dollars in grants up for grabs.

Q: Who will be assigned as my mentor?

During onboarding, you'll share your goals, working style, and mentor preferences with SEED SPOT. We'll use that information to create a mentor mixer where you can ask to be paired with a specialist who can support you with specific goals.

Q: Do you accept nonprofit ventures?

Yes! About 20% of participants are nonprofit ventures, and we have a tailored version of the curriculum for nonprofits.

Q: Do I have to give venture equity to SEED SPOT to participate?

Nope, hold onto your equity! Rather than taking partial ownership in your company, SEED SPOT charges an up-front fee of $1,200 per team or venture. This fee can be divided into two payments if helpful. Participants who pay in full receive a 10% discount.

The SEED SPOT Mental and Behavioral Health Business Accelerator supports radical founders of early-stage startups with the network, education, and resources to make tremendous leaps of growth in just eight weeks. This Accelerator is designed with a specific focus on mental and behavioral health business needs. The goal of this program is to accelerate solutions unafraid of transforming traditional approaches to address the challenges of stigma, access, and quality of mental healthcare. The program leverages SEED SPOT’s network of leaders and experts to help startups take their innovations to market faster and with greater impact on the communities they support.

After the accelerator program, participants gain a lifetime of alumni benefits and special access, maintain connections with accomplished industry leaders and fellow entrepreneurs, and continue to receive personalized SEED SPOT support.

Meet SEED SPOT Alum, Jessica Voss, founder of EmpoweRanch. EmpoweRanch uses outdoor therapeutic recreation and education as a tool to promote the health and well-being of underserved populations in the metro Phoenix area, with a focus on supporting urban youth and veterans.

LunaJoy

LunaJoy, co-founded by Shama Rathi, MD, and Sipra Laddha, MD, is a digital mental health care clinic for women through the lifespan: pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, miscarriage, perimenopause, and beyond. LunaJoy provides digital therapy, medication management, and group therapy that is in-network with all major insurances including Medicaid.

H.E.A.R.T. Center

The H.E.A.R.T. Center uses horses and recreation to create alternative and intentional therapeutic learning opportunities for students with developmental disabilities. The goal is to empower individuals with special needs to build confidence and develop life skills through recreation and activity-integrated educational programs. Founder Chelsea Harden is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Reclaiming Our Wellness

Jannea Wolff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Founder of Reclaiming Our Wellness. Reclaiming Our Wellness is a healing space for Mother's who want to not just survive in the world, but thrive. Individual therapy is readily available for mothers experiencing postpartum anxiety/depression, depression, anxiety, those who have experienced a traumatic birth, and those who are having struggles in motherhood.
