Applications are open for UpTide, a program supporting community-building nonprofits.
92NY’s Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact is launching UpTide powered by SEED SPOT. This new Accelerator will support community-building nonprofits looking to reach the next level of impact. The UpTide accelerator will support nonprofits from across the US that have developed new, replicable models to increase connection and strengthen community ties.
UpTide draws on the expertise of 92NY, the Belfer Center, SEED SPOT, and a deep network of collaborators to help nonprofits from across the US reach new levels of impact. The UpTide accelerator will launch in September 2025 with an inaugural cohort of 5 nonprofit leaders from diverse organizations focused on community-building who want to increase their impact and scale.
The UpTide Accelerator will run from September through December 2025, culminating in a showcase of the cohorts’ work at 92NY in January 2026. The accelerator’s goal is to develop 50+ nonprofit leaders whose organizations each double their impact within 3 years of completing the UpTide accelerator, reaching a total of 500,000+ people.
Key features of the Accelerator include:
- All workshops will be held virtually.
- The time commitment is 8-10 hours per month.
- The program ends with an in-person showcase in New York City, where participants will present their organization on a historic 92NY stage to potential funders and members of the public.
- Programming will include professional development workshops, peer networking with other cohort members, and 1:1 coaching/ mentorship with experts.
- Cohort members will receive a $5,000 stipend, a 3-year strategic plan outlining a clear path to scale, and a session for 2 members of the organization’s board with 92NY board members.
- At the program’s culmination, grant opportunities and a lifetime of alumni benefits, such as mentorship, funding resources, and legal support, will be available.
“Community and connection matter now more than ever. People are isolated from one another, polarized on the issues that matter, and facing the decline of communal institutions that are the fabric of our lives. Community is an anchor to move us closer toward collective wellbeing. As an incubator for community, 92NY is committed to supporting organizations whose missions are rooted in community connectedness.” –Rebekah Shrestha, Executive Director of the Belfer Center.
