United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

At SEED SPOT, we are invested in supporting entrepreneurs who are looking to create impact and work towards global opportunities.  SEED SPOT defines impact by aligning to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.”

The UN has identified 17 SDG’s to address and solve by 2030. SEED SPOT combines these global goals into 5 combined impact areas: 

The five impact areas are:

• Equality and Economic Opportunity
• Health & Wellness
• Civic Engagement
• Environmental Sustainability
• Education

Entrepreneurs have a major opportunity to find opportunity within these impact areas, with new ventures innovating and improving in these key focus areas. In fact, 96% of the more than 2,000 entrepreneurs that have gone through a SEED SPOT program are working to direct one of these SDG’s.

To continue to contribute directly to these lofty goals, over the course of the next year SEED SPOT will be putting on programming that specifically addresses entrepreneurs looking to address the impact areas of the SDG’s. The first program is the next 2-Day Launch Camp, focused exclusively on Innovation in Education. Teachers, parents, school administrators, and students alike are encouraged to sign up for this 2-Day Launch Camp to make a strong impact in education, remove barriers, innovate a rapidly changing industry, and contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals.
