Women Investing in Women Summit Hits Downtown Phoenix

By Ilana Lowery
The third annual Phoenix Women Investing in Women Summit will be held Friday and Saturday at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In partnership with the Phoenix Business Journal and Seed Spot, the summit will focus on providing financial and other business information to entrepreneurs, business professionals and student.

Anu Bhardwaj, founder of Women Investing in Women Digital, said the Phoenix summit will be the largest to date since expanding the program across North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa during the past 12 months.
Bhardwaj said a large portion of revenue from the Phoenix summit will help support the official launch of the The State of Women Radio Network, Women Investing in Women & Girls Radio Show, and the Girls Rule Foundation. The radio show is produced and hosted by teenage girls across the Valley discussing global women’s issues, entrepreneurship and investing. It is produced locally by the Kidstar Corp. for Voice America Kids with an estimated reach of 5.6 million worldwide, Bhardwaj said.
“Women Investing in Women is a revolution of passionate individuals around the globe united for creating broader access to capital and supporting economic empowerment for women and girls. We accomplish this through public-private partnerships, education and information-sharing on social media, and collaborations to promote financial literacy” Bhardwaj said. “WIIW’s activities range from advocacy for global women’s issues and seminars for women entrepreneurs to a broader dialogue toward increasing the number of women on corporate boards and in the global private equity industry.”
